UDA Spice, also known as Hwentia in Ghana or Grains of Selim, is a cherished West African spice derived from the dried fruit pods of Xylopia aethiopica. Recipe: Hwentia Light Soup (Spicy Pepper Soup)
Ingredients:

1 tbsp crushed Hwentia (UDA Spice)

1 lb goat meat or chicken
-
3 tomatoes
-
1 large onion
-
1 scotch bonnet pepper
-
1 tbsp tomato paste
-
1 tsp ground ginger
-
1 tsp garlic paste
-
Salt and seasoning cube to taste

4 cups water
Instructions:

Season the meat with salt, garlic, ginger, and onion. Simmer for 15 minutes.

Add blended tomatoes, tomato paste, and pepper.

Add crushed Hwentia and water. Boil for 25–30 minutes until meat is tender and soup is fragrant.

Serve hot with fufu, rice, or boiled yam.
