Ghanaian Food Recipe Using the Product

Shito (Ghanaian Spicy Pepper Sauce)

Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp NINA Ground Hot Pepper Chillies

  • 1 cup dried shrimp or fish powder

  • 1 onion (finely chopped)

  • 1 cup vegetable oil

  • 1 tbsp tomato paste

  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)

  • 1 cube seasoning (Maggi or your choice)

  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. Heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat.

  2. Add onions and sauté until golden.

  3. Stir in tomato paste and garlic, cook for 3–5 minutes.

  4. Add the ground hot pepper and fish/shrimp powder. Stir well.

  5. Lower heat and simmer for 20–30 minutes, stirring occasionally until it darkens and thickens.

  6. Season with salt and seasoning cube to taste.

  7. Let it cool and store in an airtight jar.

Serving Suggestions:
Serve with rice, kenkey, banku, yam, or gari.
