Recipe: Traditional Ghanaian Banku and Okra Stew

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Very Fresh Banku Powder

  • 4 cups water

  • 2 tablespoons salt

  • Okra stew (made with okra, palm oil, pepper, onions, and fish or meat)

Instructions:

  1. Mix the Banku Powder with water in a saucepan until smooth.

  2. Place over medium heat and stir continuously with a wooden spatula to prevent lumps.

  3. Keep stirring until the mixture thickens and forms a smooth, stretchy dough.

  4. Once cooked, mold into balls and serve hot with okra stew or pepper sauce.
