Sealed in a pull-tab rectangular tin, they are ideal for quick meals, snacks, and traditional recipes.

Recipe: Sardine Stew with Yam (Chofi Sardine Stew)

Ingredients:

  • 1 can of TITUS Sardines in Soybean Oil

  • 1 medium red onion (sliced)

  • 2 tomatoes (chopped)

  • 1 tbsp tomato paste

  • 1 small scotch bonnet pepper (optional)

  • 1 clove garlic (minced)

  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger

  • 1/2 tsp curry powder

  • Salt to taste

  • 1/2 cube seasoning (Maggi or preferred)

  • 1/4 cup palm oil or vegetable oil

  • 1 slice of yam (boiled and cubed)

Instructions:

  1. Heat oil in a saucepan and sauté onions until soft.

  2. Add garlic, ginger, pepper, and tomato paste. Stir and let it cook for 2 minutes.

  3. Add chopped tomatoes, curry powder, seasoning cube, and salt. Let it simmer for 5–7 minutes.

  4. Gently add sardines and their oil. Break them slightly and simmer for another 3 minutes.

  5. Serve over boiled yam or with rice or kenkey.
